I like this blog, well-written. I agreed before the season about the Tigers, I'm wondering right now though. But the division is weaker than it has been in recent years.

Santana is likely to get five or six guaranteed years at somewhere between $20 million and $25 million per season.

LSU is the VERY BEST FOOTBALL IN THE COUNTRY!!!! I do not understand why such an awesome team is never given the recognition they so richly deserve!!! Why not just admit that LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY is fantastic and derserves, more than any other team, to be NO. 1. They have proven themselves over and over again that they have what it takes to be THE NA TIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!! They proved it to the whole country last night when they shut up the Ohio State fans and those who just knew Ohio State was going to win. Oh well, what else can I say except "GEAUX PURPLE AND GOLD"

Bruce,

Why would your girlfriend be mad that she had to work? Just because a ball player passes away and a game is postponed, it doesn't mean the team can stop doing business in general (i.e. accepting phone calls for information, ticket sales, and the countless other things a baseball organization has to complete to run as a successful business).

I do agree that the drunk driving has to stop. It is basically shooting a gun into a crowd. Thank God he didn't hurt or kill an innocent bystander who happened to be on the road at the same time as him.

My girlfriend Torrea works at Busch Stadium and she was mad because she had work last week. They postponed the game, but she work she still worked five or six days. It is so hard to understand why people drink and drive. He had lied to a friend were he was going, but my prayers and thoughts will be with his family.

Update: Josh Hancock's blood alcohol content (BAC) level was .157, it was found that Josh was talking on a cell phone at the time of the crash and marijuana was found in his vehicle. I desperately hope that other players will learn from Hancock's fatal mistakes.

RRRRRRRRR-UUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Yea baby 2006 was the year for all you non-believers out there. New Jersey will always be top three states for recruits and for those who neglected the Scarlet Knights in the past will see the promise the future holds for this program. Kordell Young on the come up kid. Keep the talent in NJ! Go RU!!!!

By the way, congrats to you and your Gators, but Boise State should get a shot. They certainly earned it.

Excellent point, something seemed fishy to me (112 first place votes after losing to Florida). Does the Harris Poll not do a final poll after bowl games? What about the computer averages, are they still computed after bowl games? I do know the main reason for these polls is to rank teams for BCS bowl game bids, but why not then use them to determine who is the final national champion. According to BCSFootball.com, the final BCS rankings show Ohio State in first and this DOES take into affect their loss to Florida in the National Championship Game. Why would they even publish this? An easy answer is that the site is managed by Fox Sports, affiliated with Fox News, but I digress. Bottom line, the current BCS System is seriously flawed. A tournament is needed to determine a true national champion.

How can you calculate a final BCS ranking if Harris doesn't conduct a final poll?
